Material ConneXion® presents an exhibition of winners from
I.D. magazine’s 55th Annual Design Review
|
|
New York, NY June 25, 2009 – New York-based global materials consultancy Material ConneXion is pleased to announce that an exhibition of winners from I.D. magazine’s Annual Design Review is now on view in its New York headquarters through August 21, 2009.
Since 1954, I.D. magazine’s Annual Design Review has recognized the best in product, furniture, graphic and environment design, from the iconic to the obscure. Throughout the years, this annual showcase has chronicled the evolution of design, and highlighted its impact on our material and visual culture. Each year, the featured work is chosen by a jury of leading practitioners, who, along with I.D.’s editorial team, focus the abundance of submissions into a clear survey of the state of design.
This year's lineup includes new takes on well-known brands – from Harry Allen’s sleek First Aid Kit for Johnson & Johnson to Hewlett-Packard’s lightweight, carbon-fiber notebook, the Voodoo Envy PC – as well as innovative designs from rising young talents, like Shelly Shelly's elegant Loft chair for Bernhardt Design.
Best in Category winners are featured below. Complete information on the results of I.D.’s Annual Design Review, including an overview of Best in Category, Design Distinction, and Honorable Mention recipients, can be found in the July/August issue of I.D. magazine – the Annual Design Review issue, available on newsstands next month.
