To please devotees of their Nike Jordan™ line of footwear, Nike creates an urban sports shoe that mixes street-savvy with high-tech. To stay ahead of the game, Nike came to the Material ConneXion library. They found an unlikely winner.

Target has been lauded for its ambitious and visionary efforts to bring design to the masses. Target finds inspiration for creating the accessible yet innovative products that its customers desire in the Material ConneXion library.

Aveda

Uruku™ Cosmetic Packaging

Aveda approached Material ConneXion® looking for a cosmetic packaging in keeping with the philosophy of its then-new makeup line, Uruku ™. Uruku makeup draws inspiration and ingredients from the cosmetic practices of an indigenous South American tribe. Aveda's environmental concerns impelled it to look for a cosmetic packaging solution created entirely from recycled materials.


The Brasserie

Few destinations have so many extra ordinary dining opportunities as those found in Manhattan. World travelers know anyone can eat practically anything at any hour in New York City. So millions of gourmands around the world were stunned when Manhattan temporarily lost one of its favorite haunts, The Brasserie.

Cotule Lighting Design

Milletia™ Wall Sconces

The idea behind the Milletia™ wall sconces designed by Mr. Stephane Pagani was to create delicate "floating" lamps that cast light up and down, illuminating the staircase architectural details. To achieve the best solution, Cotule Lighting Design turned to the Material ConneXion Library.


Helfand Myerberg Guggenheimer

The renovated 6,000 square-foot, 13 foot-high industrial loft, located in Soho, represents Helfand Myerberg Guggenheimer's first collaboration. The project embodies the firm's design principles: Functional architecture rooted in the traditions of modernism which exploit simple geometry and ordinary materials to poetic effect.

Levi's® Young Men's shop

Pompei A.D.

The Levi's® Jeans Young Men's Store at Macy's Herald Square presented an intriguing challenge to Soho-based design team of Pompei A.D. How to present a fresh brand image within a flagship department store in order to appeal to more forward looking, sophisticated youth within the local community. Material ConneXion created the immediate link to new and exiting materials, for greater appeal to the young and sophisticated.

The audience attending any Second Stage Theatre's production is grateful that the architects chose to take the challenge of seating to a newer, unbelievably more comfortable level. Could a material deliver greater comfort?

TechnoGel and Steelcase — Major Office Furniture Manufacturer

TechnoGel is an amazing gel cushioning product that was developed for health care use by Bayer AG. An Italian company has licensed the product and markets it under the TechnoGel and Royal Medica brand names around the world. With significant acceptance in the medical market, management recognized that there were significant applications in the furniture and footwear segments as well as other major markets.


Trufaux

This easy-to-navigate Soho store is the launch pad of the Trufaux brand, which offers a high design collection of women's apparel and accessories. Most are fabricated from synthetic and sustainable materials. Helfand Myerberg Guggenheimer architects wanted to develop an interior which matched the high-end image of the Trufaux brand.

Urban Outfitters Showroom 209 West 38th Street, NYC

Pompei A.D.

This Pompei A.D. project for the Urban Outfitters Showroom represented a complete renovation. This retailer features three urban house brands: Bulldog, Free People and COOP. The original space was designed by Pompei A.D. 6 years ago.

How to swiftly design temporary offices of an expanding Internet advertising company? Time and budget were primary concerns. With an open plan of just under 5,000 square feet, including both a large trading floor and semi-private offices, the space had to be expediently designed to accommodate the large number of employees.
