Inflatable protective packaging composed of polymer film. ‘Inflate on demand’ packaging speeds up protective packaging steps and saves space in initial transportation and on-site storage by not shipping/storing air. The ‘bag’ is fully flat — a few layers of film — until the moment of activation. This is accomplished through the use of one-way air valves, created entirely from layers of the same polymer film, which allow air to enter the chambers quickly, but not escape. There is no secondary closure mechanism — the valves are self-sealing once inflated. The layers of film are heat bonded into valve layers and inflatable channels. The multilayered film is then again heat bonded into the desired shape with seams and living hinges. When the packaging is needed, pressurized air is used to inflate the unit, an air channel leading from the fill point brings air to each of the valve topped chambers. A variety of standard sizes are available, measurements indicate the interior dimensions of the bag and the maximum product size that can be enclosed. Q-Type: H2 Q, 10.6x2.3x4.7in; H5 Q, 11.4x2.7x5.9 in; M3 Q, 12.2x3.5x7.8 in; XXL Q, 15.7x4.7x9.8 in. Wine bottle type is suitable for standard 750 ml wine bottles, offered in widths suitable for 1, 2, or 3 wine bottles. Other bottle pack offerings are available for multiple bottle sizes: H100 Q, 100 ml; H250 Q, 250 ml; H500 Q, 500 ml; H1000 Q, 1000 ml. The film is offered in clear as standard, and often in an opaque white/black to prevent UV damage to the contents. The film can be pigmented to any color and 4 color prints can be applied for further aesthetic or branding purposes. Full customization of the package dimensions is also available. An anti-static carbon print is available for electronics and other sensitive materials. Additional closures, such as adhesive tape, can be added upon request. The system will not lose inflation pressure for 2 years, making it suitable for multiple re-use. Applications include protective packaging, shipping supplies, home goods, and accessories.
