Our curiosity combined with our proactive stance allows us to go beyond the concept to make it reality.
Andrew plays a key role in the expansion of Material ConneXion’s technical knowledge base. His research directs the implementation of consulting projects and the selection of innovative, sustainable and advanced materials to Material ConneXion’s library. He is constantly on the lookout for the newest and most exciting materials, changing his focus almost daily to meet his clients' needs.
Maider heads up ThinkLAB, the consulting division of Material ConneXion, and plays an active role in the direction of all projects. Her technical knowledge and cross-industry experience with global brands are essential for her role in helping clients create and develop their innovation strategies. Choosing a favorite material is impossible for Maider, she loves them all!
Jennifer’s role within ThinkLAB is to liaise between clients and the ThinkLAB team, ensuring that all objectives are met and all deliverables are provided on time and on budget. What she loves most about her work with ThinkLAB is how remarkably challenging (and rewarding) the work is, the variety that exists in her work, and being part of a product’s story so early in the design and development process. Jennifer’s favorite material? TechnoGel!
Kim works on finding new business as well as managing current relationships. She enjoys interacting with different companies and industries, learning about the latest challenges companies are facing and figuring out how our team can help solve them. Her favorite material is Popcorn, a handcrafted cotton textile manufactured by the women of Northern Thailand that is a great example of upcycling.
Sarah describes her job as being a translator between the worlds of science and design. In other words, Sarah helps clients with fresh thinking, problem solving and learning, and loves that every project brings a new challenge. When asked to choose a favorite material, Sarah says it changes daily based on conversations she’s currently having with manufacturers, but that she’s a sucker for nonwovens at the moment.
Anuja grew up in a house with a right-brain (architect) mom and a left-brain (engineer) dad, and is therefore compelled to support out-of-the-box thinking with solid technical backing, something she does every day as a Material Scientist. In her role, she finds surprising applications for cool materials, or, conversely, unimaginable material solutions for the required application. Her favorite material is Architected Lattice, not only because of its high performance ability, but also in its countless applications.
Sarah’s favorite material is WOODSKIN; she loves how a traditional material has been given life through innovative manufacturing processes, allowing it to bend and form into new shapes. Sarah does a fair amount of bending and forming in her role as design strategist, and loves that each project is uniquely engaging and challenging. She helps clients translate materials into innovative and functional products through new concept development and creative problem solving.
Cory loves being able to share his enthusiasm about the wonderful world of materials with both manufacturers and clients on a daily basis. His current favorite material is a basalt warp knit fabric, a textile made from transforming molten volcanic rock into fibers.
